SHEFFIELD boss Simon Stead says he was proud of how his riders came together to turn things around against Oxford.
The Tru7 Group Tigers trailed by a couple of points going into the second track grading break after Heat Seven.
But then a hat-trick of 5-1 maximums saw them open up a ten point lead.
They sealed the match points with two races to spare before then also clinching the aggregate point in the very last race from their 50-40 success.
Said Stead: “Every meeting we’ve had against Oxford this year has been pretty close so we knew they were going to make us work for it.
“A few things didn’t go our way in the first half of the meeting and the track was a bit different to how it usually is.
“So that caught us out a little bit and it took us a little bit longer to get the set-ups sorted.
“But fair play to the lads and their mechanics, they got things sorted and they were another really important three league points for us.
“Running Rider Replacement always puts a little bit of extra pressure on the team, but the lads responded well and they did a great job between them to score nine points covering Tai’s rides.
“All of the boys had at least one paid win so I was really pleased on that front.
“It’s been a really good week for us taking maximum points from three meetings in seven days, so let’s just keep plugging away and keep doing what we’re doing.”
The fixtures continue to come thick and fast for the Tru7 Group Tigers as they head to King’s Lynn on Monday (July 29, 7.30pm) before hosting Leicester at Owlerton next Thursday (August 1, 7.30pm).
