SHEFFIELD are looking to end a run of four straight away defeats when they head to bottom side Birmingham on Monday (July 22, 7.30pm).
The Tru7 Group Tigers’ last success on their travels came when they beat rivals Belle Vue in Manchester at the end of May.
But despite their form on the road, there is still plenty to be positive about for the reigning champions.
They head to the West Midlands on the back of their biggest win of the season which saw them beat King’s Lynn 58-31 on Thursday - a result which moved them up into second place in the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership.
It will be a second visit of the year to Perry Barr for the Tigers who fought back from ten points down in March to clinch a Super Heat victory.
And team boss Simon Stead is hoping for similar success this time around.
“The lads are feeling good as a group after Thursday and it’s good to have a quick succession of meetings when the confidence is that high,” Stead said.
“We know our away form is an area that we need to address and hopefully we can do that on Monday at Birmingham.
“There are no easy meetings in speedway though and the lads have still got a job to do.
“I’m sure Birmingham will be desperate to get the win as well so we’re expecting them to come at us; we just need to go there and apply ourselves in the correct manner and hopefully we’ll have too much for them over the course of the 15 heats.”
Sheffield, who return to their more familiar racing line-up, have booked Australian international Max Fricke to guest in place of Tai Woffinden whilst the hosts have recalled Zach Cook to guest in place of former Tiger Justin Sedgmen who suffered concussion at Edinburgh on Friday.
BIRMINGHAM: Freddie Lindgren, Michael Palm Toft, Wiktor Lampart, Zach Cook, Tom Brennan, Piotr Pawlicki, Leon Flint. SHEFFIELD: Jack Holder, Kyle Howarth, Chris Holder, Josh Pickering, Max Fricke, Jason Edwards, Dan Gilkes.
