MONDAY PREVIEW: IPSWICH v TIGERS

Sunday June 09, 2024
SHEFFIELD travel to Ipswich on Monday (June 10, 7.30pm) in a battle between the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership’s current top two teams.

The Tru7 Group Tigers have won their last three league fixtures but are looking for a response from their ten point Knockout Cup Semi-Final first leg defeat at King’s Lynn on Thursday.

Three league points are on the line on Monday though with Ipswich leading 46-44 on aggregate following their narrow success in South Yorkshire last month.

And Tigers team manager Simon Stead admits that is something that places extra emphasis on this meeting.

“They got a win over us at home and we can sort of make ourselves feel a little bit better by going there and returning the favour,” Stead said.

“Ipswich is never an easy place to go to but it’s somewhere we’re looking to go to and get a result.

“No doubt that will be a tough test for us though and we’re going to need everybody firing.

“We know we’ve got to improve from Thursday at King’s Lynn but we’ll be gunning for them.”

The Tigers are at full strength and include Tai Woffinden who finished runner-up in Saturday’s Attis Insurance Sports Division British Final.

Former Sheffield man Adam Ellis has returned to the Witches’ line-up following a recent shoulder problem and the Foxhall outfit also include British legends Chris Harris and Scott Nicholls as guests.

IPSWICH: Chris Harris, Dan Thompson, Scott Nicholls, Adam Ellis, Emil Sayfutdinov, Keynan Rew, Jordan Jenkins.
SHEFFIELD: Jack Holder, Kyle Howarth, Chris Holder, Josh Pickering, Tai Woffinden, Jason Edwards, Dan Gilkes.
