THURSDAY PREVIEW: KING’S LYNN v TIGERS

Wednesday June 05, 2024
SHEFFIELD are set to be back at full strength for their Knockout Cup Semi-Final first leg at King’s Lynn on Thursday (June 6, 7.30pm).

Having missed their last three meetings with an aggravated shoulder injury, all-action Aussie Josh Pickering has declared himself fit to race against his former club.

Said Pickering: “It has been a tough few weeks to be honest, sitting on the sidelines and watching the boys have all the fun!

“But I’m coming back now, I’m 100 per cent confident that my shoulder is going to be able to withhold all the movements and everything so I’m very much looking forward to get back racing.”

The Tru7 Group Tigers have a stunning record against the Stars since stepping up into the top-flight three years ago and are looking to extend their unbeaten run to 18 fixtures against the Norfolk out.

“I’m more than confident we can go there and get the result we require,” Pickering said.

“King’s Lynn are bringing in a couple of guests for a couple of their injured riders and it’s our first time at being back at full strength for a few weeks.

“It’s a track I know well, I know Tai (Woffinden) always loves racing at King’s Lynn, Jack (Holder) was unbeaten there last year - that’s just some of us and I think that shows that as a team, we’ll be ready and raring to go.”

For any supporters who can’t make the trip to the Adrian Flux Arena, Thursday’s meeting will be streamed online via BSN at: https://watch.britishspeedway.co.uk
A reminder that the second leg takes place at Owlerton on Thursday, June 27.
