HOLDER’S DREAM FINISH

Saturday April 13, 2024
JACK Holder admits teaming up with brother Chris in a last race showdown was the ultimate way to clinch Sheffield’s first full win of the season.

The Aussie duo combined for a Heat 15 5-1 at Leicester on Thursday to secure a 46-44 win for the reigning champions.

The Holder brothers were the Tru7 Group Tigers’ top two scorers with Jack scoring 12+1 and Chris notching 9+2.

And it was a night that Jack feels can help him kick on after a steady start to the season.

“I’m not really in the groove yet but I felt much more like myself and it was back to true form like I know,” he said.

“It’s always good riding with your brother in the team and to seal the deal with him was so good.

“I’ve looked up to him for so many years and I’ve pretty much copied his style.

“He had a great night; he was leading and had an engine failure in the first one but he got it all sorted and finished real strong.

“It was good to get an away win and hopefully we can build on this and we look forward to finally riding at our home track for once.”

Sheffield are due to host what will be their first fixture of the year at Owlerton this Thursday (April 18, 7.30) with King’s Lynn the visitors who have former Tigers’ favourite Tobiasz Musielak at No.1.
