YOUNG LION ARCHIE RETURNS

Sunday February 25, 2024
YOUNGSTER Archie Whitelam will be back as Sheffield’s mascot for 2024 - and he’s spent the week getting ready for a busy season ahead.

The 11-year-old got involved in a special three-day training camp at Workington where the Young Lions received special tuition from seven times British Champion Scott Nicholls and former GB international Paul Hurry.

Recent British Under-21 Champions Tom Brennan and Leon Flint also dropped in as Archie stepped up preparations ahead of the Youth Championship series where he will compete in the 125cc Support Class.

Archie is over the moon to be invited back as the Tru7 Group Tigers’ official mascot and is excited for the year ahead.

Said Whitelam: “To be the Sheffield mascot means so much and it’s a great honour.

“Not only do I love the track but the club has some great supporters and the #Bend2BarmyArmy are crazy!

“The track staff are all so helpful as well and I love helping them out at the end.

“It’s a fantastic experience, I’m really grateful and I know how lucky I am.

“The Sheffield team is looking really good again this year and I think they can win the league title again!

“I’m really excited about this season for me and I want to thank everyone who helped me at the Young Lions’ training camp - I learnt a lot about racing lines and things like that and Scott and Paul were brilliant teachers.”
