KING'S LYNN 39 TIGERS 51

Thursday September 08, 2022
SHEFFIELD booked their place in the Premiership play-offs with a 51-39 win at King’s Lynn on Thursday.

With captain Kyle Howarth ruled out on the morning of the meeting following a high speed crash at Belle Vue on Monday, the rest of the Tru Plant Tigers pulled together superbly to deliver a great team performance.

Sheffield conceded a 5-1 in the opener but responded with back-to-back maximums of their own to move in front.

Their lead was halved when home duo Nicolai Klindt and Thomas Jorgensen got another 5-1 in Heat Six but the Tigers reeled off three race advantages on the spin to open up a ten point gap.

The South Yorkshire side won four of the last five races, ensuring they left Norfolk with all four league points - not only securing a play-off spot but also giving them realistic hope of finishing top of the regular standings with three home fixtures to come.

Tigers are back at Owlerton next Thursday (September 15) when King’s Lynn visit the Steel City.

A reminder the ‘September Savings’ package remains available online only until the middle of next week.
