HOLDER BEGINS SGP QUEST

Saturday April 30, 2022
SHEFFIELD No.1 Jack Holder launches his Speedway Grand Prix career tonight (Saturday, April 30, 6pm).

The 26-year-old was handed a spot in this year’s series by event organisers, with Round 1 of 12 getting underway in Gorican, Croatia.

And Tru Plant Tigers co-promoter Peter Mole believes it provides added interest to the campaign for everyone connected with the Steel City club in a season where there is already a high sense of anticipation.

“It is a proud time for Sheffield Speedway, now competing weekly in the Premiership in England, and our No. 1 competing at the highest level on the World stage,” he said.

“Jack will grab this opportunity with both hands and make the most of it.

“I believe he is the real deal and ready to make his mark on the GP stage.

“I’m sure this view will be shared by all of us at Sheffield.

“His trademark powerful first and second bend dashes where he fearlessly goes round the wide outside line past the opposition are a regular occurrence, and I cannot wait to see him with this manoeuvre on the GP stage.

“Jack is experienced in Poland, and competes against the top riders, successfully, on a weekly basis.

“Since he has represented Sheffield, I’ve been so impressed by the professionalism and dedication always shown by Jack.

“He is focused, immaculately turned out, with top notch equipment, always arriving punctually.

“He wanted to return to Sheffield this year, and we are lucky to have him leading our challenge.

“From mechanics, to equipment, to set-ups and organisation, with all the natural talent and ability possible, Jack is the real deal.

“Although I do not foresee Jack becoming World Champion this year, I feel he will grow as the series progresses, and do enough this season to retain his place and I do not doubt he will be No. 1 in the world in future years.”

It promises to be another exciting series with British trio Tai Woffinden, Robert Lambert and Dan Bewley also involved.
