Reserve duo Connor Mountain and Stefan Nielsen also impressed with the latter involved in all three 5-1s recorded by the home side.

Craig Cook, Jack Holder and Kyle Howarth all completed a steady night’s work contributing 7+1 to take the tie away from their Manchester counterparts.

Belle Vue skipper Brady Kurtz and GP star Max Fricke showed their class on numerous occasions to pile up more than half of the Aces points tally on a tough night for Mark Lemon’s side.

Top scorer Ellis said: “It’s been a long wait to come back here and we’ve hit the ground running which is something we maybe struggled with last year, so we’re all pleased.

“Our reserves were riding really well which is so important if we want to challenge for titles across the year.

“It’s started brilliantly, the team spirit is up there with some of the best teams I’ve been involved with and we’re only three meetings in which is a positive sign.

“If we all stay fit and confident like this then we can take anyone on at any track - we’re looking forward to it.”
