SHEFFIELD have confirmed the signing of James Cockle – after almost giving up on him.

The London-born rider was close to agreeing terms with potential new owner at Mildenhall who bettered Sheffield’s offer.

Tigers owner Neil Machin said: "I like his style and he is now very enthusiastic about riding for us.

"The team is shaping up nicely and I expect to be able to confirm the rest of the team shortly.”
