A CHRISTMAS MESSAGE

Wednesday December 23, 2020
SHEFFIELD co-owner Peter Mole is keen to remind fans feeling low that better times are ahead at the club.

After seeing a stunning return to the Premiership including triple World Champion Nicki Pedersen dashed by the pandemic, Mole says there will be a hunger to see the bikes race around Owlerton again next summer.

And the West Midlands-based businessman has used a saying attributed to his football team Wolves to rally frustrated fans at Christmas.

He said: “It is no secret that although my heart is in Sheffield, I live in the Midlands, and have been a lifelong supporter of Wolves.

“The phrase ‘Out of darkness cometh light’ is one used at Molineux and I know of no more apt saying now to inspire us for next season in either British speedway, or life in general.

“Of course, the future can never be cast in stone, nobody can tell what will be around that next corner.

“We will be ready to go here at Sheffield once British speedway kicks off for the new season.

“For that I must thank the continued support and patience of our fantastic season ticket holders, sponsors, and fans. Without this the situation would be very more uncertain, I look forward to thanking them all personally once circumstances allow.”

Mole, a successful dental practitioner, is keen to ramp up the excitement levels when prospects for racing return.

“I cannot wait to see all the work, investment and time spent so far proving worthwhile when the tapes eventually rise at Owlerton once again,” he said.

“We all face a slightly different Christmas, but I am positive we will make the most of it and have a relaxing and comfortable day in the company of our own household and loved ones. New Year will inevitably be not as we would like to spend it under normal circumstances, but again let us see it as a new start and be optimistic.

“I would like to take this opportunity on behalf of Damien Bates, Julie Reading and myself to wish all Tigers fans a happy and healthy Christmas and extend best wishes to everyone for 2021.”
