SHEFFIELD co-promoter Peter Mole has sung the praises of their Owlerton landlords for their supportive attitude during a difficult time.

A&S Leisure are hosting behind closed doors greyhound racing but the speedway league season has been completely wiped out.

But on the positive side, with crowds possibly returning to sporting venues in October, Mole says the club and the stadium will be more than ready to host Premiership racing next spring.

“From the moment we walked through the door they have supported us right from day one,” Mole said.

“They fully supported our move into the top flight Premiership for this year as well, they’ve encouraged us to make the most of the new, stunning, state of the art hospitality facilities on bend one and we are very lucky that they make life as easy as they do for us at Sheffield.

“Owlerton’s business plan is very robust - and they openly admit that we are a very big part of their plans going forward.

“I visited the stadium for the first time in a fair few months last week and they are so savvy and so COVID aware - knowing they’ll have had so much experience in dealing with people by the time the tapes go up next March is very reassuring for us as a club.”
