TIGERS CO-OWNER HAILS FELLOW BOSSES

Saturday April 18, 2020
SHEFFIELD co-promoter Peter Mole has offered his support to fellow club bosses around the country.

Mole, a popular character throughout the sport and widely regarded as one of the ‘nice guys’, says it’s time those who invest their own money into clubs were more valued and appreciated.

And he has a positive message for fans and sponsors alike with an exciting new era for the Tru Plant Tigers in the top division currently on hold.

He said: “Many are quick to criticise, but I know how hard every single promoter works at each track up and down the country, to keep their business alive.

“The amount of time, not to mention the considerable amounts of their own money, invested on bringing their team to the tapes.

“This is not because we think we’ll make a fortune, far from it, it’s because like supporters, we all love our sport.”

Mole is relishing the prospect of the current situation improving so sport can start.

“Time moves on quickly, this crisis will be over, and we will be having an exciting season this year with great memories,” he said. “Thank you to all our fantastic fans at Sheffield, loyal weekly attenders, appreciated season ticket holders, and valued sponsors.

“We’re in this together, we cannot change things, but when we all come out the other side with the enthusiasm and excitement for the action on track will be just as great as it was pre-season.”

Sheffield are pressing ahead with their 2020 souvenir programme – and issue 3 is under production.

‘Tiger Talk’ has been a massive hit with fans and the next issue, out on Monday week (April 27) will feature an in-depth interview with new signing Richard Lawson, boss Simon Stead writes a column, plus there will be a look back at his time at Sheffield with former British Champion Neil Evitts.

It will be on sale from this Monday at curtis-sport.com where copies of the first two issues remain in stock and available to order.
