SHEFFIELD Speedway will unveil their opening night opponents within the next 24-hours - and it will be an Elite League club!

Owlerton bosses have spent weeks in talks with various clubs but an agreement will be completed today to fill the vacancy for opponents at Owlerton on Thursday, March 13.

The Elite League has slashed the points limit this season leading to suggestions that the top two divisions are closer in standard than ever before.

Tigers owner Neil Machin said: "Our opening fixture, subject to confirmation, will put that theory to the test."
