SHEFFIELD Tigers are set to make a major announcement regarding the future of the club.

Details are still being finalised but co-boss Damien Bates says it will be good news for the 90 year old club and its supporters.

Said Bates: "2019 was a difficult year in several ways and we realise that things have to change.

"We can't make any concrete decision until everything is signed and sealed and we will be in a position to make an announcement this afternoon."

Tigers have endured a difficult past year when they were forced to switch racedays to Sundays from the traditional Thursday nights, leading to the club being put up for sale in August.

The announcement will be made on the club's website and social media at 5pm.
