SUNDAY PREVIEW

Friday August 16, 2019
NEWLY crowned British Under-19 Champion Drew Kemp is backing Sheffield to beat Glasgow at Owlerton on Sunday (5.30).

The Tigers know the importance of adding three more points to their league tally as they aim to keep their play-off hopes alive.

Youngster Kemp is hoping to play his part too and hopes to step his performances up for Tigers after claiming an impressive major honour on Thursday.

“To win the British Under-19s felt great,” Kemp admitted.

“My points haven’t been what I would’ve liked for Sheffield so far but I’ve learnt a lot with them.

“I’ve had a good few meetings against riders my own age so hopefully now I can use that to help me end the season on a high for Sheffield.

“We’ve got another big meeting on Sunday but we know it’s going to need another big team effort.”

Tigers are hoping captain Kyle Howarth will be fit enough to take his place after stretching ligaments in Tuesday’s defeat at Redcar.

Meanwhile Glasgow include controversial Great Britain star Craig Cook following an appeal of a 12-day ban recently handed to him.

Cook is a fan of the Owlerton circuit having won the Championship Riders’ Individual there last season and inspiring the Scottish Tigers to a 45-45 draw in the Knockout Cup with a 15-point maximum earlier this season.

Gates open at 4pm and it’s kids go free on a fun day out for all the family.
