TASTY TEST FOR TIGERS

Saturday June 29, 2019
SHEFFIELD return to Owlerton on Sunday with a mouthwatering league test against Somerset (5.30).

Tigers currently sit in second place in the Championship standings, just three points ahead of Sunday’s opponents who have meetings in hand.
It also sees the top two teams from last weekend’s Championship Fours go head-to-head, but team boss Simon Stead is hoping to see his side come out on top this time around.
“Of course we want another home win but everyone knows what a good team Somerset are,” Stead said.
“They’ve got a powerful top end to their line-up with a couple of talented youngsters at reserve.
“This should be an excellent meeting and I’d like to think the boys have got what it takes to win what could be another close contest.”
Captain Kyle Howarth has been ruled out through suspension following an incident with a pre-meeting drugs test ahead of his scheduled guest booking at Edinburgh on Friday.
His place will be taken by former Somerset man Jake Allen who has shown some fine this season.
Simon Lambert will also guest in place of Zaine Kennedy at reserve who is sidelined through injury for the hosts.
Somerset include three-times British Champion Chris Harris and experienced campaigner Rory Schlein as well as Todd Kurtz who remains popular with the Owlerton faithful after winning the league with Sheffield in 2017.
SHEFFIELD: Danny King, Drew Kemp, Ty Proctor, Broc Nicol, Jake Allen, Simon Lambert, Josh MacDonald.
SOMERSET: Rory Schlein, Todd Kurtz, Stefan Nielsen, Valentin Grobauer, Chris Harris, Anders Rowe, Henry Atkins.
