SHEFFIELD Speedway are aware of the fact that Kyle Howarth was ruled out of a scheduled guest booking for Edinburgh on Friday.

This was due to an incident with a pre-meeting drugs test.

We can confirm that Kyle has been taking medication in recent days to deal with illness and recent injuries. The medication is readily available over the counter.

It appears something relating to this medication has shown up in the sample, which will now be further analysed in a laboratory.

We are hopeful that by Tuesday it will become clear that this was the only issue with the sample, and that Kyle can continue racing after this.

Naturally this rules Kyle out of our home match with Somerset on Sunday, which is a disappointment, but we hope to see Kyle back very soon.
