CAPTAIN HOWARTH RULED OUT ON SUNDAY

Saturday June 01, 2019
SHEFFIELD skipper Kyle Howarth has been ruled out of Sunday’s home clash with Scunthorpe (5.30).

The 25-year-old crashed out of Friday’s British Semi-Final at Redcar and sustained a shoulder injury.

It means club bosses are frantically searching around for a guest to step in for their inspirational captain.

Tigers Co-promoter Damien Bates said: “Obviously it’s a blow because Kyle is a key member of our side.

“We can’t sit around feeling sorry for ourselves though because it’s important we still pick up the three league points available to us.

“We’re trying to get a guest in but whatever happens we’re going to need our supporters to turn out in numbers and get right behind the riders.

“This is a fixture Scunthorpe are always pumped up for and it’s a rivalry that means a lot to both sets of supporters.”

Fans are reminded of the new later start time of 5.30 with gates open from 4pm.

SHEFFIELD: Danny King, Kasper Andersen, Ty Proctor, Drew Kemp, TBC, Broc Nicol, Zaine Kennedy.
SCUNTHORPE: Josh Auty, Danny Ayres, Jason Garrity, Stefan Nielsen, Jake Allen, Ryan Kinsley, Alfie Bowtell.
