STEAD WARNS YOUNG STARS TO GO EASY!

Thursday April 25, 2019
TEAM boss Simon Stead has warned his young stars not to “knock lumps out of each other” ahead of their Top Gun crunch battle.

The inspirational chief will be watching over his hot prospects as they race in the individual event this Sunday at Owlerton at 4pm.

It’s a great opportunity for more track time for the highly-rated Tigers kids Drew Kemp, Kasper Andersen and Zaine Kennedy.

There’s some top talent up against them including Ellis Perks, Leon Flint and Ryan Kinsley.

Stead said: “Obviously they are young lads and their first instinct is to win at all cost. But I don’t want my lads knocking lumps out of each other.

“It’s vital track time for all the lads and it will be interesting to see how they get on. I’’ve been very impressed by Zaine, especially at Owlerton.

“Drew has found it harder since going into the No.2 spot, that’s natural of course. But he was excellent last Sunday.

“Kasper has had a tougher start to the year but he has bags of talent and scored 10 for King’s Lynn in the Premiership at Peterborough.

“It’s a good chance for them to try and few things out with bikes and try out a few different lines on the track.

“There’s some proper quality talent up against them. Leon Flint, Danyon Hume, Ellis Perks and Ryan Kinsley are all in good form. I think it’s going to be a cracking event.”

Kennedy admits he has been happy with his form so far. He added: “It’s been OK but away from home it has been tough for me.

“I’ve just got to still keep progressing and learning. I’ve got good people around me and I feel good right now. But it’s a long season ahead.”

Admission is £10 and kids go free.
