LEICESTER v TIGERS, PREVIEW

Saturday April 20, 2019
SHEFFIELD team boss Simon Stead admits his side face their “toughest test” at Leicester in a Championship Shield blockbuster tonight (7.30).

Stead’s side go to The Paul Chapman and Sons Arena seeking to pick up their first win away from home this season before heading back to Owlerton for the return tomorrow (4pm).

The Sheffield Window Centre Tigers have lacked a bit of bottom end punch to push them towards victories away from The Steel City.

But Stead is adamant his side can find an extra gear. He said: “It has been a tough start so far for there boys.

“Obviously away from home we are lacking in a bit of experience right now but that will come as the season settles down.

“We’ve had glimpses from all boys of what they are capable of but just not consistently enough especially away from Owlerton.

“There’s little doubt that Leicester is our toughest test yet. The boys will need to find something extra special against an in-form side.

“However, I’m far from downhearted. We’ve been close at times in all the meetings at Redcar, Newcastle and Scunthorpe but just fallen away in the middle of the meetings.

“We need to address that problem obviously as soon as possible. The spirit is excellent, everyone is working hard to get it right.

“I feel a bit for Drew Kemp going up to No.2 in the side so quickly. He’s finding it difficult but that’s natural, it is a very difficult number.

“He just needs to not take it to heart and enjoy his racing again and the wins will come easier. He’s young and hungry and it will happen for him.”

After the visit to Leicester, the Lions then arrive at Owlerton for another cracking encounter at 4pm on Sunday. Children go free at both meetings and season ticket holders at both clubs can claim discount on admission in their away meetings.

LEICESTER: Scott Nicholls, Ellis Perks, Josh Bates, Ryan Douglas, Richie Worrall, Jack Thomas, Connor Mountain.

SHEFFIELD: Danny King, Drew Kemp, Kasper Andersen, Ty Proctor, Kyle Howarth, Zaine Kennedy, Broc Nicol.
