KING SET FOR BONANZA

Friday March 15, 2019
NEW Sheffield No.1 Danny King makes his return to action on Sunday when he competes in the Ben Fund Bonanza at Leicester (2pm).

King, who rode for the Lions in the Premiership in 2017-18, is back from serious nerve damage to his arm which caused him to miss the majority of last season.

And the event, which raises vital funds for injured riders, should prove a perfect way for him to get back into the groove as the countdown continues to the Steel City Championship at Owlerton a week on Sunday (March 24).

King said: “The Ben Fund have been fantastic – you can’t fault them, they are always there. They certainly do their job and that’s why I am always pleased to try and help them when I can.

“I’ve always hoped in my career that I would never have to use the Ben Fund but I’ve still always supported it.”

Charles Wright, who rode for Tigers last season, is also included in the field at the Paul Chapman & Sons Arena, along with ex-Sheffield duo Jason Garrity and Josh Auty.

The meeting is a full 20-heat individual plus a semi-final and Final, and an auction will take place after the final presentation.

Gates open at midday with pre-meeting events starting at 12.30, including Men in Black and British Youth races.

Admission prices are £20 adults, £15 concessions, children (10-16) £5, and under-10s free.
