SHEFFIELD'S big opening meeting to celebrate their 90th anniversary will now be included in the club's season ticket package.

The news comes following the unfortunate withdrawal of Workington from the Championship which left a gap in the league programme and as a consequence a meeting down on the season ticket deal.

But club bosses have now made the decision to make season tickets valid for the opening meeting on Sunday March 24.

The format is currently under discussion with a number of options under consideration.

Co-promoter Damien Bates said: "We have been acutely aware of the need to add an extra meeting for season ticket holders to bring them back up to full value for their loyalty and investment.

"Our opening meeting should be a great occasion as the club celebrates a rich history and tradition and we are looking forward to seeing a bumper crowd."

Season tickets will be on sale at tonight's (Wednesday) event with BT Sport duo Kelvin Tatum and Nigel Pearson in the Panorama Room.

Doors open at 7pm and Julie Reading will be handling sales. Admission to the event, which also features Tigers racer Kyle Howarth, is £10. They are also available online via the club website.
