MORE GREAT NEWS FOR TIGERS

Friday November 30, 2018
SHEFFIELD Window Centre have signed a new deal to continue as title sponsors of Sheffield Speedway.

And SWC boss Ian Hunter reckons it will maintain one of the longest running partnerships in the sport.

The Tigers and the city-based company first joined forces in 2007 and Ian says that one chief reason why he's staying on board is the new mood of optimism at Owlerton - especially after the switch to Sunday racing.

"When I read and heard the things that the Bates family in general are wanting to do, having this big push forward, then I knew I wanted to stay a part of Sheffield Speedway," he said.

"It's good to have the new ideas and the fresh enthusiasm.

"To me moving to a Sunday is all about the future of speedway; bringing the kids in who will start to follow the sport from a young age. Thursdays haven't really allowed us to do that but Sundays will."

Co-promoter Damien Bates says he's delighted to keep Ian on board.

"It's a terrific partnership and we're so pleased to have Sheffield Window Centre with us again," he said.

"It will be the 13th year of the sponsorship agreement - so hopefully it'll be a lucky one!"
