SCUNTHORPE v TIGERS, PREVIEW

Thursday August 30, 2018
“DO it for the fans” – that’s the message from team boss Simon Stead ahead of Sheffield’s trip to rivals Scunthorpe on Friday (7.30).

Tigers currently sit bottom of the standings but are determined to put things right in their final couple of meetings.

Scunthorpe suffered a heavy 59-30 defeat at home to Ipswich last Friday and Stead is hoping his riders can put in a performance to be proud of at the Eddie Wright Raceway.

“Scunthorpe have had a fairly tough season themselves and things haven’t gone their way either,” Stead said.

“But they’ve still got a pretty decent team and there is a healthy rivalry between our two clubs.

“Sheffield notoriously travel there in big numbers and despite our position in the table, I’m sure that will be the case again on Friday.

“I’m looking for the riders to go there and give nothing less than 110 per cent and hopefully we can get a positive result for the supporters.”

Tigers run rider replacement for James Shanes who is representing Great Britain in the World Longtrack Team Cup.

SCUNTHORPE: Steve Worrall, Stefan Nielsen, Jason Garrity, Jake Allen, Josh Auty, Danny Phillips, Gino Manzares.

SHEFFIELD: Charles Wright, James Shanes R/R, Kasper Andersen, Todd Kurtz, Kyle Howarth, Connor Mountain, Broc Nicol.
