TIGERS v NEWCASTLE, PREVIEW

Wednesday August 15, 2018
SHEFFIELD hand debuts to Kasper Andersen and Connor Mountain when they host Newcastle at Owlerton on Thursday (7.30).

The pair signed for Tigers at the weekend and are both looking to make an impression as they ride in front of their new fans for the first time.

“I am very excited,” Danish racer Andersen said.

“Both me and Sheffield haven't had the best season so far and I hope that me joining Sheffield will make our end of the season better.

“But I'm just happy that they are interested in me, and I really need to get some laps in and get my confidence back.

“I’m looking forward to riding for their team and hopefully we can win the first meeting I’m in.”

Tigers also hand a guest booking to popular former Tiger Jason Garrity who stands in for the injured Charles Wright at No.1.

Sheffield are looking to bring their run of six consecutive defeats to an end, knowing a win over the Diamonds would see them leapfrog their opponents in the league standings.

SHEFFIELD: Jason Garrity, Todd Kurtz, Kasper Andersen, Broc Nicol, Kyle Howarth, Connor Mountain, James Shanes.

NEWCASTLE: Stuart Robson, Tero Aarnio, Matej Kus, Ashley Morris, Ludvig Lindgren, Carl Wilkinson, Matthew Wethers.
