SHEFFIELD boss Simon Stead admits the pressure is on ahead of tonight’s trip to rivals Scunthorpe (Friday, 7.30).
Tigers collapsed on home shale on Thursday, losing 52-38 to Lakeside despite being ten-points up with six races gone.
And with his side sitting in tenth place, six-points off the play-off places, Stead has demanded a response from his side ahead of their trip to the Eddie Wright Raceway.
“We need to put things right,” Stead said.
“The performance (against Lakeside) wasn’t acceptable - it simply wasn’t good enough.
“It’s put more pressure on the results that we need and every meeting now becomes a must win match.
“We need improvement and we need it quick - starting tonight at Scunthorpe.
“I want to see the riders riding a damn sight better than they did (against Lakeside); they know what’s required and I want to see them go out there and do it.”
Former Tiger Jason Garrity is ruled out for Scunthorpe with a hand injury sustained at King’s Lynn on Wednesday; Newcastle’s Tero Aarnio comes in as a guest.
SCUNTHORPE: Steve Worrall, Stefan Nielsen R/R, Tero Aarnio, Jake Allen, Josh Auty, Danny Phillips, Gino Manzares.
