LAKESIDE v TIGERS, PREVIEW

Thursday July 12, 2018
SHEFFIELD skipper Kyle Howarth makes a welcome return to the Tigers’ line-up for Friday’s trip to Lakeside (8pm).

The 24-year-old suffered a dislocated shoulder at Newcastle last month and has missed the club’s last three fixtures.

But now he’s declared himself fit to race in arguably their toughest test of the season so far.

Opponents Lakeside have been in devastating form at home, winning all of their fixtures to date.

And Tigers’ task has been made more difficult with heat-leader Lasse Bjerre missing out through the mandatory nine-day rule after suffering concussion.

But that isn’t stopping recent recruit Broc Nicol looking forward to another meeting in his debut British season.

“I’m adapting to the tracks quite well,” the American said.

“I have to make little changes along the way but I certainly can’t be too disappointed with how I’ve started over here.

“I’m enjoying being a part of this team too. We’re all so desperate to go out and win every meeting but for me it’s all about making sure I progress week-by-week as well.”

LAKESIDE: Nick Morris, Zach Wajtknecht, Adam Ellis, Kyle Newman, Richard Lawson, Ben Morley, Alfie Bowtell.

SHEFFIELD: Kyle Howarth, Todd Kurtz, Lasse Bjerre R/R, Broc Nicol, Charles Wright, Georgie Wood, James Shanes.
