REDCAR v TIGERS, PREVIEW

Friday April 27, 2018
SHEFFIELD team boss Simon Stead says he can't ask for much more from his riders ahead of tonight's trip to Redcar (Friday, 7.30).

Tigers jumped back to the top of their Northern Championship Shield group on Thursday thanks to a 49-40 home win over the Bears.

An away win tonight would put them in with a big shout of progressing through and Stead is backing his riders to put in a strong performance.

"After a frustrating start with the weather, the boys have got some meetings under their belts now and they're doing their jobs in the main," Stead said.

"I was particularly pleased for the two reserves (James Shanes and Jack Smith) on Thursday.

"We've been working with them a lot since they joined and they both contributed solidly on Thursday which was great to see.

"It was another important win and we know they'll give it their all again at Redcar.

"Some of our boys tend to go well there and Charles (Wright) rode for the Bears last season.

"So fingers crossed we can make some good starts again and come away from there having added to our tally."

REDCAR: Ben Barker, Jordan Stewart, Jonas B Andersen, Mikkel B Andersen, Ty Proctor, Nathan Greaves, Theo Pijper.

SHEFFIELD: Kyle Howarth, Todd Kurtz, Lasse Bjerre, Josh Bates R/R, Charles Wright, Jack Smith, James Shanes.
