SHEFFIELD Speedway legend Simon Stead is closing in on the full line-up for his farewell meeting at Owlerton next week.

And home fans will be delighted with the news that Tigers title winners Lasse Bjerre and Todd Kurtz have accepted the invite for Sunday March 25 (4pm).

Both riders are back in club colours this season for the defence of their league title and Aussie ace Arron Summers, who has signed for Berwick, has also confirmed for the meeting.

Said Stead: “I’m delighted to include both Lasse and TK because they are good lads who did a fantastic job for the club last season when we won the championship.

“They were both new to Sheffield and went about their business in a really professional manner so it’s great for me to have them in my meeting.

“Aaron is a good rider and I’m sure he’ll do a good job at Berwick. He’s got a lot of experience now and he’ll enjoy rubbing shoulders with the Grand Prix lads.”

Stead has included current Grand Prix racers Jason Doyle (the new World Champion), Chris Holder and Martin Vaculik alongside former GP winners Niels-Kristian Iversen and Chris Harris.

Sponsorship packages are still available for the event which is sure to attract a bumper crowd and emails should be sent to sslastlap@hotmail.com for full information.
