CHAMPIONS Sheffield have handed Lasse Bjerre a new contract.
The pocket rocket is the first name on Tigers’ team sheet for the defence of their title with more to come over the coming days.
And co-promoter Damien Bates said: “We have great faith in Lasse to increase his average and kick on once again.
“He’s a quality rider who has a very professional outlook and he did a fine job for us last season.
“He was an integral part of the team which won the league title and hopefully we can do more of the same next season.”
Bjerre said: “It was a dream come true for me to win the title in my first season. We were the best team all season and finished the job in the play-offs, I’m so pleased.
“It was only right that we won the title after the season we had and now we’ve got to try and do it all again. I’m looking forward to it.”
Tigers are pressing ahead with team plans and have several riders lined up for talks with a host of others contacting the club wanting to be considered.
