NEWCASTLE v TIGERS, PREVIEW

Sunday October 15, 2017
SHEFFIELD have been dealt another injury blow ahead of Sunday's trip to Newcastle (6.30).

Already without top duo Josh Grajczonek and Kyle Howarth, the Tigers have now lost local lad Josh Bates who pulled a neck muscle at Ipswich on Friday.

Aussie racer Ty Proctor has been booked as his guest replacement as Sheffield continue their busy run.

The Tigers may have already clinched the Championship league title, but the away meeting against the Diamonds is one of two outstanding regular league fixtures which they are required to complete.

And after crashing out of the Knockout Cup at Ipswich on Friday, the Owlerton outfit are aiming to rebuild some confidence ahead of Monday's Promotion / Relegation Race-Off 2nd Leg at Leicester.

Co-promoter Damien Bates said: "Of course we were disappointed to go out of the KO Cup in the semi-finals but we've already completed our main goal of winning the league title.

"We want to go to Newcastle and put in a good performance and hopefully come away with a positive result."

NEWCASTLE: Michael Palm Toft, Ashley Morris, Stuart Robson, Ludvig Lindgren, Steve Worrall, Ben Hopwood, Alfie Bowtell.

SHEFFIELD: Scott Nicholls, Todd Kurtz, Ty Proctor, Kyle Howarth R/R, Lasse Bjerre, Jan Graversen, Georgie Wood.
