TIGERS LOSE SKIPPER FOR CRUNCH CLASH

Monday October 09, 2017
SKIPPER Kyle Howarth will miss Sheffield’s promotion push against Leicester at Owlerton tonight.

Howarth crashed heavily in the Championship Pairs when he helped Lasse Bjerre to glory – but he’s battered and bruised and has been advised to rest.

It makes Sheffield’s task even harder as they will utilise the rider replacement facility which means his four programmed rides will be shared amongst team mates.

Tigers boss Simon Stead said: “It makes our task that little bit harder and we need all the Sheffield fans to turn out in force and get right behind us.

“Kyle has been brilliant all season and it’s a massive blow for us to miss him, but he has to do what the doctors have said and take some rest.

“We’re confident we can still pull it off but we need the fans to be that extra man for us because they really make a difference.”

Meanwhile Wednesday’s second leg at Leicester has been put back to next Monday, October 16, due to concerns over the weather forecast for the Beaumont Park area.

PROMOTION / RELEGATION DATES:
Monday October 9: Sheffield v Leicester, 1st Leg, 7.30.
Monday October 16: Leicester V Sheffield, 2nd Leg, 7.30.
