JOEL Parsons will race in a benefit meeting for his former colleague Garry Stead at Stoke's Loomer Road Stadium this Saturday (7.30).

The Sheffield ace was a team-mate of Stead's at Hull when the now defunct Vikings won the treble in 2004.

Tigers fans are urged to turn out and support the event if possible to aid Garry as he needs to convert his home for wheelchair use after his career-ending crash in May.

The event is an individual format and also includes newly crowned Premier League Riders' Champion James Wright and Coventry's Elite League title winner Rory Schlein.
