SHEFFIELD Tigers roared to the top of the Championship table with a stunning 51-39 win at fellow title challengers Edinburgh.
After two narrow defeats at Armadale already this year, it was a case of third time lucky for the Owlerton men who produced one of the team displays of the season to add four huge league points to their tally.
It also means that the Window Centre Tigers have taken maximum points from their last six meetings - a run of form which has got team manager Simon Stead grinning from ear to ear.
"What an absolutely massive result that is!" Stead declared.
"It was another stunning showing from all the boys with everyone chipping in from 1-7.
"Edinburgh is notoriously a really difficult place to come to and with them high on confidence from a terrific away win at Ipswich the other week, we knew it wouldn't be easy again.
"We came here tonight without Josh (Grajczonek) who was riding for Somerset in the Premiership and without (Lasse Bjerre) who crashed at Swindon on Thursday.
"Those two have been two of the form riders in the league - yet we've had to come here without the pair of them and we've pulled off a magnificent result against one of our title rivals.
"I can't praise each and every one of the boys enough - they were all superb and fully deserve their win in the end.
"A special mention for our guest No.1 Chris Harris. He had big foots to fill stepping in for Josh tonight. But as always with 'Bomber' he gave it everything he'd got and covered Josh admirably points wise too.
"That one was for all of our supporters who have stuck with us and backed the boys all season long. And the famous Tigers on Tour crew were there tonight, cheering the boys on as always and it's great to see what it means to them."
The Tigers found themselves six points behind with nine races gone. But heat advantages in each of the six final races saw the Championship's form side turn things around in fantastic style.
Captain Kyle Howarth secured two race wins before teaming up with guest No.1 Chris Harris for 5-1 maximums in Heats 13 and 15.
Josh Bates rounded off his night with three straight wins with reserve Jan Graversen claiming the minor points in each of those races for crucial heat advantages.
Todd Kurtz took the chequered flag in his final two outings on another solid night for the Aussie while nobody could question the commitment of youngster Georgie Wood once again.
The Tigers compete in the Championship Fours Major Event at Peterborough on Sunday (2pm).
