SHEFFIELD bosses branded Thursday's Four Team Tournament Challenge a success following an entertaining night at Owlerton.

A Tigers Cubs quartet, featuring senior side reserve duo Jan Graversen and Georgie Wood, roared to success with help also from former Sheffield man Richard Hall and improving youngster Layne Cupitt.

Co-promoter Peter Mole was pleased with the exercise and has sent his thanks to everyone involved.

"It was an enjoyable night overall and everyone who came along certainly got their value for money," Mole said.

"We had a fair few riders from the National League and also a couple of Championship racers too and it was a good mix for the fans.

"The riders gave it their all and the National League boys relished the chance to race on a much bigger, faster race track than what they're used to.

"It was a beneficial exercise for the Poultec Team as well; it gave them a chance to put things into practice and their youngsters got more competitive as the night went on.

"We were pleased with the turnout too and we thank everyone for being a part of it."

Meanwhile, the Tigers are sweating on the fitness of Danish ace Lasse Bjerre.

The Owlerton favourite crashed while on Premiership duty for Leicester on Thursday and withdrew from the meeting with a knee injury.

A full update and preview ahead of the trip to Edinburgh will be issued on Friday morning.
