SHEFFIELD boss Simon Stead praised his side's 'perfect response' as they made it two wins in 24-hours with a 50-40 victory at Peterborough on Friday.
A second success at The East of England Arena in less than a month saw the Window Centre Tigers add another four league points to their SGB Championship tally as they leapt back into the play-off positions.
The result followed up a convincing 51-42 home win over Berwick on Thursday meaning they have claimed maximum points since suffering a 14-point defeat at high flying Ipswich on Wednesday.
Said Stead: "You can't ask for a better response from your team than that can you?
"The lads have picked themselves up really well and it's been a big couple of days for us.
"But credit to the team, they've come here against what is a strong Peterborough side on paper and beaten them for the second time in the space of a few weeks.
"It's never a place you come to and expect it to be easy and they did make us ride hard for our points.
"We got our noses in front from the off which helped us massively, we stayed there and we made sure we kept them out of tactical territory.
"The one big difference tonight was the fact we had a contribution from reserve.
"James Shanes came in and was superb and his points were the stand-out difference in the end.
"It was another solid team effort all round though really and I'd like to think this result is another big stepping stone for us moving forwards."
Tigers No.1 Josh Grajczonek dropped just one point to an opponent for a second successive night in another wonderful display from the Australian.
Guest reserve Shanes rode his heart out to achieve double figures - a feat matched by Lasse Bjerre who continued his fine run of form.
Kyle Howarth was his usual solid self while Todd Kurtz enjoyed one of his best performances of the season, chipping in with two paid wins on his way to paid double figures.
Josh Bates struggled following his heat 14 crash at Owlerton on Thursday and was withdrawn as a precautionary measure while guest youngster Georgie Wood will have gained plenty of confidence from another experience in the second tier.
The Tigers can make it a hat-trick of victories when they play host to Workington at Owlerton on Thursday.
