SHEFFIELD produced a solid team performance to see off Peterborough 51-42 at Owlerton.
It was a third win on the spin for the Window Centre Tigers as they kept themselves in a strong position in the SGB Championship standings.
Sheffield promoter Damien Bates was delighted with his side's display and reckons the scoreline flattered the visiting Panthers.
"I know there were seven 3-3s in the first ten races, but we were dominant in all honesty taking most of the race wins and just missing out on some of the minor places at times," said Bates.
"They only got as close as they did because of the tactical ride double points from Chris Harris and that threw them a very small lifeline.
"I have to be honest, I expected even more of a challenge from Peterborough, but credit to our team for brushing them to one side and getting the win.
"Joe Lawlor was meant to be guesting at reserve but he injured his hand this afternoon so we have to thank Andy Mellish for stepping in at such late notice.
"But as for the rest of the team, they were solid throughout, we had no weak links and we're happy to get another win on the board.
"One thing I will say is Heat 15 is one of the best speedway races you will ever see anywhere.
"Full credit to all four riders and particularly to Jack Holder for winning that one for Peterborough and that second place from Chris Harris is up there with one of the best moves I have ever seen.
"We've served up some great racing again tonight, we've got another win and we couldn't be much happier right now."
Lasse Bjerre and Josh Bates continued to develop their middle order partnership by both contributing double figures and teaming up for key 5-1 maximums in the opening half of the meeting.
Josh Grajczonek recovered from a last in his opening outing to drop just one point from his next three while Todd Kurtz looked impressive on new equipment.
Kyle Howarth started his night off with two ruthless passing manoeuvres to take the chequered flag in both of his opening rides while Rob Branford was made to work hard for his points once again at reserve.
The Tigers are back in action at Owlerton next Thursday when they host Redcar - their first of three meetings in three days.
