Sunday May 14, 2017
SHEFFIELD stormed to their first away win of the season with a 50-40 success over local rivals Scunthorpe at the Eddie Wright Raceway.

The Window Centre Tigers put in an impressive display with their powerhouse top four leading them to victory.

Skipper Kyle Howarth and Josh Bates both went unbeaten for the visitors whilst Josh Grajczonek and Lasse Bjerre also starred.

And team boss Simon Stead was full of praise for his side after they emerged with all four SGB Championship points.

“It was a great result,” Stead said. “It was a superb performance from us, and we couldn’t ask for any more than to come away with all four points.

“A couple of the lads struggled, but a couple of them really stepped up their game. I’m delighted to see Kyle Howarth and Josh Bates score maximums, and Josh Grajczonek and Lasse Bjerre were superb as well.

“There was some great team riding, they all worked together to get the result and it was a good day at the office.”

Stead's side will be back in action when they head to Ipswich on Wednesday before hosting the Witches in the return fixture at Owlerton on Thursday (7.30).
