WAR OF WORDS OVER SEMI-FINAL

Tuesday October 09, 2007
SHEFFIELD Tigers are 15 races away from the Premier League Grand Final - but reigning champions King's Lynn stand in their way in Norfolk on Wednesday (7.45pm).

The Owlerton side lead the semi-final by a massive 31-point margin after their magnificent display in the home leg last Thursday.

And some ill feeling has crept into the tie after some outspoken comments from Lynn co-promoter Jonathan Chapman who, effectively, has told Tigers fans not to bother travelling!

He said: "I would be surprised if any of them even bother coming because it’s a long journey home after suffering such an embarrassing defeat."

Tigers bosses Neil Machin and David Hoggart have urged supporters to brush aside the comments and still make the trip to back skipper Andre Compton and his men.

Said Hoggart: "We still need their support, it does make a difference. Clubs from the Premier League and the Elite League have been in touch with their good wishes and it seems if we win it will be one of the more popular successes of the season. Perhaps young Mr Chapman should ask himself why."

KING'S LYNN: Tomas Topinka, Chris Mills, Daniel Nermark Paul Lee, Trevor Harding, Adam Allott, Simon Lambert.

SHEFFIELD: Ricky Ashworth, Ben Wilson, Andre Compton, Paul Cooper, Joel Parsons, Jordan Frampton, James Cockle.
