WIN OR BUST FOR TIGERS TONIGHT

Wednesday October 19, 2016
SHEFFIELD Tigers know they will need a home win against Glasgow tonight if they are to challenge for a place in the Premier League Grand Final.

A bumper crowd is expected at Owlerton for what could be the last action of a dramatic season – unless they see off the powerhouse Scottish side.

Sheffield co-promoter Damien Bates said: “We need to win tonight if we are to get to the final, that’s our first priority, win at home and then see what we can do in the second leg.

“We are urging everyone to spread the word about tonight and come along and back the lads, particularly as it’s a Wednesday night meeting instead of the normal Thursday.

“The weather forecast is settled and we are in for a terrific night of racing. It’s going to be hard and fast, we will be going for it right from the first heat and it’s going to be a proper team effort right from the riders through to the fans.

“We’re looking forward to it and I’m sure a few Glasgow fans will be travelling down for it. It’s up to our fans to create a great atmosphere.”

Tonight’s meeting starts at the usual time of 7.30. The second leg at Ashfield is tomorrow night.
