COMEBACK KID PRIEST IN TIGERS RETURN

Saturday September 15, 2007
SHEFFIELD head to Premier League rivals Stoke tonight in the first leg of the Sunday Sport Trophy - and include comeback kid Luke Priest.

Priest will ride at reserve for the Sheffield Window Centre-backed side just 14-months since suffering life threatening injuries in a crash, ironically, at Stoke.

He made his comeback in Birmingham's Alan Pearce Trophy in mid-week and readily accepted the opportunity to represent his former club in place of injured reserve James Birkinshaw.

Paul Cooper will also be missing from the first leg tie - the return is at Owlerton on September 27 - as he was already booked to race in a Grass Track event before Sheffield accepted the fixture.

On the play-off front, Edinburgh's win over Rye House last night, along with KIng's Lynn's win over Birmingham, was good news for Sheffield who need to beat Newport at Owlerton next Thursday to give themselves a chance of qualifying.

TONIGHT'S TEAMS:
STOKE: Lee Complin, Rusty Harrison, Glenn Cunningham, Ben Barker, Claus Vissing, Simon Lambert, Jamie Smith.
TIGERS: Ricky Ashworth, Ben Wilson, Andre Compton, Paul Cooper R/R, Joel Parsons, Luke Priest, James Cockle.
