PLYMOUTH 52 TIGERS 41

Friday April 29, 2016
KYLE Howarth was in stunning form for Sheffield at Plymouth on Friday - but he couldn't prevent them from slipping to a 52-41 defeat.

Winter signing Howarth scored a stunning 15+2 but he didn't get the necessary backing off his colleagues who left it too late to hit form.

Tigers co-promoter Peter Mole said: "We were outgated and outridden in the first half of the meeting and the late rally couldn't save us.

"It was disappointing, but now we have to move on and go to the next meeting.

"I'd like to offer sincere thanks to the travelling Sheffield fans who made the long trip down there, they were brilliant as ever."

Sheffield will be back in action as they travel to Peterborough on Sunday, May 8 before hosting Glasgow at Owlerton in their first home league fixture on Thursday, May 12 (7.30).

PLYMOUTH 52: Todd Kurtz 14+1, Sam Simota 11, Stefan Nielsen 9+5, Jack Holder 8+1, Charlie Gjedde 5+1, Ellis Perks 5+1, Kyle Newman r/r.

SHEFFIELD 41: Kyle Howarth 15+2, Jason Garrity 7+2, Simon Stead 7, Richard Hall 4+1, Josh Bates 4, Nathan Greaves 3, Dimitri Berge 1.
