CLASSIC NIGHT IN PROSPECT

Wednesday September 05, 2007
SHEFFIELD Tigers have a mountain to climb if they are to claim maximum points from their Premier League clash with the Isle of Wight at Owlerton on Thursday (7.45pm).

They lost 59-32 when the sides met across the Solent on Tuesday - not helped by a catalogue of injuries.

Tigers are hoping to welcome back some of their walking wounded - James Birkinshaw is confirmed at reserve but there remain doubts over Andre Compton and James Cockle.

Lee Complin, who deputised for Compton on Tuesday, is on standby to do the same in the return fixture.

"It's a tough meeting and a very big meeting for us in the context of the season overall," said Tigers chief Neil Machin.

"Isle of Wight are a great side and we will need to be at them from the start, we can afford no mistakes on the night. It should be a classic."

Once again children aged 12 and under will be admitted free of charge for the meeting which starts at 7.45pm.

And meeting sponsors Lloyds TSB are taking advantage of some of the excellent corporate facilities at Owlerton Stadium to watch speedway for the first time.

TIGERS: Ricky Ashworth, Ben Wilson, Andre Compton (or Lee Complin), Paul Cooper, Joel Parsons, James Cockle (or guest), James Birkinshaw.
ISLE OF WIGHT: Chris Holder, Cory Gathercole, Jason Bunyan, Glen Philips, Krysztof Stojanowski, TBC, Chris Johnson.
