SHEFFIELD completed a quickfire double over Redcar as they edged a tremendous 47-43 victory at South Tees Motorsport Park.
The Window Centre Tigers struck decisive 5-1s in heats 13 and 14 to ensure they followed up their 50-40 triumph at Owlerton 24 hours earlier with another hard-fought win.
It was another gutsy performance from Jack Lee's side as they maintained their confident run of form with the play-offs beckoning.
Guesting No.1 Richard Lawson starred with a 14 point haul, only missing out on a maximum in the final race, whilst a spectacular performance from Jason Garrity saw him also notch double figures.
Paco Castagna and Zach Wajtknecht both struggled, but influential reserve Josh Bates continued his fine form to provide them with the lower order strength required whilst David Bellego added an important race win despite otherwise experiencing a tough night.
Danish ace Nicolai Klindt also put in another impressive display, joining forces with Bates for what proved a match-winning 5-1 in the penultimate race, and he was thrilled to see them continue their flying form with a second consecutive away win.
"It was a really good result," said Klindt. "It was a tight meeting all the way through, and again Redcar pushed us really hard like they did on Thursday, but we had a good couple of 5-1s towards the end which managed to give us the win.
"They had a couple of refereeing decisions go their way, but we still dug deep and managed to get over the line in the end. We were fortunate to have a great guest in Richard Lawson, who only dropped one point, but we all worked hard to come out on top and it was a great win in the end."
The Tigers will wrap up their regular season as they travel to Scunthorpe with a new-look side on Monday (3pm) looking to extend their winning run and keep confidence high heading into the business end of the season.
