TIGERS VOW TO BOUNCE BACK

Friday July 10, 2015
SHEFFIELD Tigers have vowed to bounce back from their 60-31 defeat at Edinburgh on Friday.

The Sheffield Window Centre side have confirmed they expect to unveil their new signing over the weekend as a replacement for shoulder injury victim Ashley Birks.

And they head to Newcastle on Sunday with Aussie ace Josh Grajczonek once again standing in for skipper Simon Stead.

Tigers kept it close in West Lothian for the first part of the meeting with some determined racing but crumbled in the latter stages against the home track specialists.

The scores were close until Heat 7 when Edinburgh gathered some momentum and were relentless in their onslaught to brush Tigers aside.

Co-Promoter Damien Bates said: “Whilst it’s a disappointing result we have to put it into context, we are badly depleted right now.

“I can confirm we are hopeful of finalising arrangements with a new signing, and a newcomer to British racing, over this weekend but not in time for the trip to Newcastle on Sunday.”

EDINBURGH 60: Craig Cook 15, Justin Sedgmen 13+2, Kevin Wolbert 11, Max Clegg 10+2, Sam Masters 6+1, Erik Riss 5+3, Liam Carr 0.

SHEFFIELD 31: Aaron Summers 9, Arthur Sissis 6+1, Cameron Heeps 6, Josh Bates 5+1, Andre Compton 3+1, David Bellego 2+1, Ashley Birks R/R.
