TIGERS IN STUNNING AWAY WIN

Friday August 24, 2007
TIGERS reignited thier play-off flame with a sensational 53-41 win at Somerset.

It was a breathtaking performance from the under-fire Owlerton side who ansered their critics in style by becoming only the second team to emerge victorious from the Oak Tree Arena in the Prenier League this season.

Victory was almost assured after heat 13 when Magnus Zetterstrom was nominated for double points for the Rebels, only for Ritchie Hawkins to be excluded from the re-run after clashing with Joel Parsons. Zetterstrom won the restart for six-points but Tigers knew they were almost home and dry.

Emil Kramer went off 15-metres as a golden double tactical subtitute in the penultimate race as one last thrown of the dice by home boss Steve Bishop. Tigers reserve Paul Cooper, however, continued his sensational form to lead home the race and make mathematically sure of the win.

Skipper Andre Compton and Ricky Ashworth rounded the night off in style for Sheffield with a last race 5-1 to set them up nicely for Sunday's Trip to Mildenhall.
