SHEFFIELD got their Premier League campaign off to a perfect start as they raced to a 56-37 victory over Plymouth at Owlerton.
Fresh off the back of three consecutive League Cup wins, the Window Centre Tigers continued their dream start to the 2015 season with another fine showing.
Simon Stead struck another dominant maximum – but it was once again a tremendous all-around team effort from Jack Lee’s side.
The hosts ran only three last places and accounted for ten race wins as they emerged with a resounding victory – and team boss Lee was full of praise for his side.
Said Lee: “Plymouth gave us a bit of a scare early in the meeting, especially when they won their tactical ride, but the boys got their heads down and did a brilliant job to pull away over the second half of the meeting.
“All the boys were going well again, the team is working really well at the moment and everyone is scoring points.
“There is no real weak link in our side at the moment which counts for a lot, so we hope that can continue and we can carry on our winning start to the season for as long as possible.”
Winter recruits Ashley Birks and David Bellego once again impressed in support of Stead, whilst Andre Compton and Ty Proctor fought to solid contributions to complete an excellent display from the top five.
Down at reserve, Josh Bates continued his fine start to the campaign whilst Arthur Sissis put in another improved showing as he continues to go from strength to strength following his return to the sport.
It was another hugely promising night for Sheffield, who will be back in League Cup action at Newcastle on Sunday aiming for their fifth successive win in all competitions.
