SCUNTHORPE 55 TIGERS 39

Sunday October 12, 2014
SHEFFIELD co-promoter Damien Bates has thanked the guests who came to the rescue as Tigers finally brought the curtain down on their season at Scunthorpe.

Apart from their injury problems, Nico Covatti was away on international duty which left the Owlerton side with just Leigh Lanham and Ben Wilson from their usual line-up.

And it was no surprise when they went down to a 55-39 defeat despite some brave displays – particularly from Aaron Summers who notched 15.

Said Bates: “It was tough putting the team together and I would like to thank all the guests who accepted bookings.

“Some riders have already packed their things away for the winter, but we had riders who were only too happy to come along and help us out and it is appreciated.

“In addition I would like to thank the Sheffield fans who made the trip – and all the fans who have supported us in what has been a difficult first season for the new management team.”
