TIGERS LOOKING TO BOUNCE BACK

Wednesday July 18, 2007
TIGERS aim to bounce back from two successive defeats last weekend when fellow high-fliers Somerset visit Owlerton on Thursday (7.45pm).

The setbacks at King's Lynn and Workington were disappointing and frustrating as Andre Compton and his men continue to stumble on their travels.

Now the Sheffield Window Centre-backed side have the chance to take out their frustration on a Somerset side who are enjoying a successful season.

Sheffield owner Neil Machin said: "We've dropped out of the top four and we need a win against Somerset to get back on track, but it won't be easy.

"Somerset came here last year and put us out of the Knockout Cup as well as running us close in the league and, of course, they include the Premier League Riders' Champion Magnus Zetterstrom who won his title here at Owlerton - his battles with our own skipper Andre Compton will be worth the admission money alone!"

Sheffield are likely to still be without Ricky Ashworth who is to visit hospital again because of the severe pain he's experiencing with his damaged wrist. He suffered the injury in a horrifying crash at Peterborough almost a fortnight ago.

TIGERS: Ricky Ashworth R/R, Joel Parsons, Andre Compton, James Birkinshaw, Ben Wilson, Paul Cooper, James Cockle.

SOMERSET: Magnus Zetterstrom, Stephan Katt, Emil Kramer, Jordan Frampton, Ritchie Hawkins, Simon Walker, Danny Warwick.
